Grilled Citrus and Herb Salmon

Get ready to wow the crowd with this grilled citrus and herb salmon recipe. This delightful dish combines the freshness of citrus and the aromatic flavors of herbs, creating a perfect balance that will leave you craving more.

Gather some fresh basil, cilantro and parsley, all finely chopped to release their vibrant flavors. Don't forget the minced garlic, a true superstar when it comes to adding depth to any dish. For a touch of richness, use pure olive oil. To give the salmon a little kick, incorporate crushed red pepper. Vinegar adds a tangy note, while salt and pepper bring everything together.

Start by preheating your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it's nice and hot to achieve that perfect sear on the salmon. In a medium bowl, combine the basil, cilantro, parsley, garlic, olive oil, crushed red pepper and vinegar. Give it a taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking. If you prefer a bit more tang, feel free to add additional vinegar.

Now, it's time to prepare the star of the dish – the fresh Atlantic salmon. Take the salmon fillets, pat them dry with paper towels and season evenly with salt and pepper. This step ensures that every bite is seasoned to perfection. Spray the preheated grill with cooking spray to prevent sticking, then carefully place the salmon on the grill. Cook each side for about 4-5 minutes until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the fillets reads 145°. The result will be a succulent and flaky salmon with a beautifully grilled exterior.

While the salmon is grilling, add a touch of sweetness and smokiness to the dish by grilling some sliced citrus fruits. Season them with salt and pepper to taste, then grill until warm and slightly charred, about 1-2 minutes per side. This step adds a delightful contrast to the savory salmon.

To serve this masterpiece, start by arranging a bed of fresh, organic arugula on a serving dish. Place the grilled citrus slices on top, infusing the dish with their vibrant flavors. Finally, carefully place the grilled salmon on the bed of citrus and generously spoon the herb mixture over the top. The combination of the tender salmon, tangy citrus and aromatic herb mixture creates flavors that will transport your taste buds to paradise.

Enjoy this grilled citrus and herb salmon recipe as a delightful main course for a summer gathering or a special family dinner. It's a dish that celebrates the freshness of nature and the joy of savoring a perfectly cooked salmon. Bon appétit!
